Taking Submissions for Indigenous Short Films
If you have a story to tell or a short film to share and you identify as Native/Indigenous, submit your work to be featured on Native Lens. Selected Indigenous short films are featured on NativeLens.org, via the Rocky Mountain PBS YouTube Channel, through our newsletter and occasional in-person screenings. Additionally, audio from Native Lens stories is shared on KSUT Tribal Radio.
Our Native Cinema Showcase
Native Lens is a digital series that showcases short form (30 minutes or less) films and videos of any genre, with Indigenous filmmakers and storytellers as creative leads. If you have any questions about whether or not your project is considered Indigenous-led, please reach out!
If you have editing capabilities, please submit an edited piece. If you are not able to edit your story, it is not a problem! You can submit unedited footage and Native Lens can work with you to edit your story.
How to Submit
Native Lens utilizes the film industry submission platform, FilmFreeway, to standardize our application process. Filmmakers and storytellers can create a project page for their work on FilmFreeway and then submit directly to Native Lens. FilmFreeway is free and available to anyone to use. Submit completed work via FilmFreeway here.
